Good weekend make up for pissy week. Yup. That's right. Genesis 2:2By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.
Technically, I rested on Saturday.
Had a good talk with SK on life and our ideal. The gap between our philosophies and realities, and how are we working towards closing the gap. Too much deep stuffs to be written here. Maybe I will come back to those thoughts and post it up some day.
Attended Silly Gal's orchestra concert. An absolute delight. SK was touched at the purpose of the concert, which was to provide a platform of inspiration to the jaded working-class to once again pick up their instrument and find back the passion they had for music. It inspired her to take up an instrument too .. and she asked, "Doesn't it make you want to play piano again?" I just laughed at the question and said "I will stick to enjoying the performance of others"
Some interesting thoughts I had during the concert .. for the first part of it, I was very consciously trying to be present at the concert and had to catch myself a few times when my mind wandered elsewhere. It was kind of a task .. I mean, if you think about it, what do you mean by "enjoying" the music. I still can't really understand the notion .. but towards the middle part, there was this particular performance by 4 person.I forgot the piece they played, but the way they smiled at each other and seemingly enjoyed playing that piece will be hard to forget.
It was at that point that my mind was more settled at the concert and I was much more present at the concert. As I said, absolute delight.
Silly gal, you gotta keep performing ok?
Watched Detective Dee, one of the more recent movie by Andy Lau. Kind of disappointed. I have always been a fan of detective films and novels. (Sherlock Holmes!) I appreciate the novelty put into the film, and the characters are rather interesting, but CG ruined a big part of the fun. Overall, wouldn't recommend it except for a lazy Saturday night.
Picked up Fragile Things by Neil Gaiman again after it had been left collecting dust for so long. I lost interest in fictions since .. I don't know .. after Drake? But it was a refreshing break from all those books I have been reading these days.
But I still really can't stand fiction .. it somehow bores me now.
Probably not till I find something that really gets me turning the pages will I finish a fiction in a day or two anymore.
That's about the stuffs I have done. Not much, but that's really the point, isn't it?
Have you had a good weekend to make up for a pissy week?
