Of Quitting Facebook

I have just deactivated Facebook.
Reason being.I can't stand it anymore.

Newspaper write that networking through LinkedIn and Facebook can actually helps. Because you never know which person you add could help propel you to your dream career.
And people told me that they have approached CEOs or some manager through Facebook asking about employment opportunities in their company.
Apparently, the general public say social media is the way to go.

I say.Fuck all of this.

Did you know there was once a random person who tried adding me as her friend ... and when I sent a nice and polite message asking who she is ... which is to me the normal thing to do since I don't know her, don't recall bumping into her, have not an idea where/when have I met her before and I did not want to just simply add "friends"... and you know what was the reply I got?

Something along the line that says, "I know you were the INTIMA President and bla bla bla. Never thought the President would be so snobbish. Just wanted to add you as friend"

WHAT THE FUCK?!
I am being judged by a person I have never met before.

So, you know what. Fuck all of this. I am tired of adding "friends" I have not seen in the past 10 years. Or even "friends" I have never seen! Tired of being judged by people I barely know. Tired of letting acquaintances finding out how I am doing, when I don't really care whether they know I am dead or still kicking it.

I am tired of putting up false front for people. You know. You may be right in thinking that if I don't like this, I can just delete those "friends". But you know what, it is much easier to just deactive the whole damn account. And apparently, I can activate it anytime just by logging back on.So for the time being, I am going to kick back and just not care about who is getting married, who is breaking up, who is attached or whether someone is feeling the blues, the grays, the rainbows, whatever ... Let news reach me the old way - through the yum cha table.

Hey.At least I am still on MSN.

Yeah, makes sense. I usually send them a message if I have no idea too!, heh. Oh well, your actions seem fitting, and seeing how it can be activated instantly again, so, I won't bug you-lah. Just a little unfortunate I can't stalk you anymore. But, it's okay-lah. In less than a month's time, I won't be needing FB to do that. :P
