Just recently, the chairman of Satyam Computer Services admitted to fraud - inflating profits, and creating phantom numbers in the company's assets and decreasing their liabilities. And more recently, Citigroup ... the once so distinguished and prestigious bank announced step toward breakup. And today, I am reading news where people are concerned about pensions should one or more of the U.S. auto makers were to collapse. To even think about the idea that General Motors, Ford or Chrysler would be in the state they are in today a few years back was ridiculous.
And yet, here we are today.Witnessing the change in a new age.
People have commented that Buffett was lucky to have his market depression to make discounted purchases. Right now, we are in that era.Stock prices are down so much, it is as if S&P and Dow Jones are having their own "Black Friday".
For some, it may be a great time. For others, it is a miserable time.
But for everyone, I think this is a sign that the old need to go.The system needs clearing up.
Hmmm ... why the sudden "heavy" discussion?
No idea.I just thought it is interesting that I am living in this age.Witnessing the birth of a new landscape.
