Black Friday is the Friday after Thanksgiving in the United States where it is the beginning of the traditional Christmas shopping season. It is when companies slash prices ridiculously to boost their sales way way way over the top.
And when I said "ridiculously" ... it is RIDICULOUSLY.
Things that you normally had to pay USD 300 - 500 for, now cost only USD 50 - 100 plus plus.
Shops that never gives great discount during normal season (at most like 25% maybe during the normal season) ... now offers 50 - 70% STORE WIDE sales. Meaning, EVERYTHING in their store are discounted. You won't find any teeny tiny asterisk down below the HUGE 50% sales words with the words "On selected items". It is EVERYTHING in their store.
Even Bose, the way overpriced audio sellers offer a 10% discount on most items in their store. And if you think 10% is redundant, think again ... because Bose rarely, if they EVER ... offer any type of sales.
Why the lengthy essay on telling you how ridiculous the sales that are going on?
Of course it is partly to make you feel jealous for those back in Malaysia and Singapore.
I am evil.I always am.
I was part of the "Black Friday" madness this year. Madness, you asked?
Madness, I would reply.
Imagine driving 1 hour to an outlet mall, standing in the cold frigid weather, with temperature around 0 to -5 celcius, EXCLUDING wind chill, waiting for the shuttle bus to pick you up to the mall, because their main parking lot is so darn full that we have to park a good 10 minutes drive away and even then had to drive around to actually find one parking spot.
And when you arrive at the outlet ... people EVERYWHERE is crazy. They are not even looking at their stuffs. It is mostly "grab and go".
If you don't understand the reason behind the madness ... it is ok ... neither do I, even though I was part of it.*sigh*
I was part of it because it was a group travel. Can't expect me to tell them I miss the bed when everyone is so upbeat about midnight shopping right?
One crazy break.
And now my whole body feels sore. Damn.I think it is a sign of aging.

I still love the vacation although I didn't enjoy the shopping. It was crazy, but it is kind of happiness to suffer with you beside me. =)
(Let those single jealous, haha!)
