I think it has become a routine to rush through my days in a blaze of assignments and notes, feeling burnt out at the end of the day, and la-la land just comes once I hit the pillows.
Of course, that is when the luxury of being able to hit the pillows allows it.
Sounds very much the same to your situation?
Yeah well. What to expect. We are zombies made to be slave to this world.
Growl. Yes master. Work Work.
And you probably know how much I hate routine. Routine stifles. Smothers. Chokes. Asphyxiates. And yes. I did that with the help of a dictionary. My vocab is not that good.
Anyway, routine stifles. Thinking of that makes me think of THE Steve Jobs' commencement speech at Stanford. He looked in the mirror every morning of his life and ask "If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?"
And when the answer has been "No" for too many days in a row, he knows he need to change something.
So. I looked in the mirror. Ok fine. I looked in the laptop screen and try to see my own reflection. And ask. If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?
Hmmm.
Tough question.
See ... I like a lot of the things that I am doing right now. Sincerely.
It's a lot of fun. And heck. I am actually being educated!
Then again, being stuck in Parsa's class is not exactly the kind of thing I want to do if I am about to die today. Or any other classroom for that matter, to be honest. I mean. Seriously. My last day. And I am spending it in the classroom?
I read a quote once in Jimmy Johns that says
Do what you need to do when you need to do it, and you will be able to do what you want to do when you want to do it.
Lovely.
Sums up a lot of my thoughts.
And hence. Back to the books.
