Of a little gossip

When I was eating lunch with my ex-roommate, current apartment-mate, colleague and good friend (Oh yes, they are all one single person by the way), we started chatting about other people.
And by chatting, I really mean gossip-ing.

After finishing our lunch, I recollected our little "chat".

And it just struck me, really.
How judgmental I can be.

The person gossiped could probably be as bad as we said her to be.
The person gossipped may be as lousy as we potray her to be.
But, what right do I have to judge her?

It seems so easy to talk about people, and yet have so many flaws ourself.
Seems like a spiral huh?

Next time I have an impulse to talk about people, I think I would say to myself:
"Oh hush. If you're not helping him/her to get any better, shush.
If you intend to help him/her to see the dust in his/her eyes, remove the plank in your eyes first."

Shhhhhhhh.
