After the conference ended, my crazy holiday began~ Ok la..the conference itself is somewhat a holiday..but with all the discussions and "team-building" stuff..I personally wouldn't qualify it for a "real" holiday.hehehe
Chien Yi picked me up on 22 April night, and we begin our Kuching One Day Rush Tour on 23 April morning.
We began our tour in meow meow land with my blur blur guide getting lost while trying to get to her friend at a park. Apparently, there was a "front door" and she just couldn't get there, and we had to enter by "back door".
We found her friend still and this is what we had for our breakfast in a nice kopitiam.

After breakfast, we head on to the cultural village nestled in Santubong.
This is the legendary Mt Santubong. My personal tour guide was nice enough to tell me the story behind it. Apparently, this mountain was previously a fairy. Her father turned her into a mountain because of some family dispute between her and her sister. And as she said it..it seems like Malay's fairy tale almost always end up with someone being turned into a rock or river or whatever..funny huh?? Anyway, if you are interested in the full story of Santubong..visit Sarawak!!Then find CY!!She will tell you everything on the way to the village..hehehhe.
This picture of the entrance was actually taken AFTER the tour..but what the heck..I just want to show you guys first what the entrance looks like..hahaha..squint close enough and I think you will see the words "Selamat Datang ke Kampung Budaya Sarawak"
The cultural village is a real blast! Inside, you can find..lemme count..hmm..roughly 6?..around 6-8 different orang asli tribes..each with their own unique settlement. The picture above is a stairs..Nice huh..

Hanging out with the local "chicks".
For the left side, I forgot which tribe is it..hmmMm..Iban?..but for the right one..I am sure it is Bidayuh. Oh yeah..take a look at the right side picture and look at the right hand side..just on the left of me in the picture..you see those bottles??those are "tuak"..and it taste pretty good! Like those chicken wine my grandma makes..hiak hiak ("Tuak" is some sort of liquor made from fermented rice)
